I bought some silpads from digikey and I have a problem.
The silpads are rather large (I am trying to thermally couple an Al heatsink to an Al plate), the pads come on a plastic backing that, I figured, would peel off. Apparently that's not so. As you can tell I never used silpads before so I don't know if the stuff is just dry or what, but when I try to peel it the pad splits and the gluey side remains on the backing. Obviously I didn't want to ruin the whole thing so I stopped the peeling process and decided to ask.
What's the deal? Is that normal? Is there some trick I should use? Heat the backing maybe?

Thanks
