How do you treat the immediate area directly behind your stand mounts? I need better panels for power hungry large 4 ohm stand mounts.

I'm thinking 4" deep
w/ loosely rockwool filled
2'x4' two tone wood veneer with contrasts from very light to very dark, maybe even a black pain w/ white maple.

Is 4 inches adequate at that location?, or if pushed down to say 3" thick x 2 feet by 2 feet.

Sound behind the speakers is not usually wanted. However at bass frequencies you can use multi-subs. At lower mids you can use placement. For mids and highs you can use baffling/waveguiding.

Your treatment will suit the area you are having a problem with.

I borrowed a design que from GIK that should be a positive in the direction of functionality . Getting set up this morning. 3" would be better but may be a tad less effective? Although an inch difference may be so minimal that it isn't even audibly noticeable
