For an experiment I would buy four Dayton Audio UM18-22 18" Ultimax and a big honken amplifier that has output in the infrasonic region, then put the drivers in a sealed or IB enclosure and equalize them to produce output in the 5-20hz range. This should get enough infrasonic output for experimental purposes without breaking the bank. Also, you can stay away from ******* off the Mrs by screwing woofers to the back of the couch. Seriously, do you drop a quarter in and say, “ Hold my beer!”
